At Tokyo Academics, marketing is about supporting the student academic journeys and meeting the goals of all TA’s service lines. The ideal candidate has experience in developing and executing marketing strategies while managing and inspiring their team. The manager should be proficient with day-to-day marketing activities, long-term strategizing, and adapting under tight deadlines to meet the company’s changing needs. Typically, this person will be working at the Tokyo Academics office in Nishiazabu, during our regular business hours (10 AM – 7 PM Japan Standard Time). The marketing manager may need to make off-hours visits to schools, event venues, vendors, and partners.
Objectives of this role
Work with all service lines to meet their goals and target KPIs on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing strategies with specific objectives across different channels and segments.
Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, and leveraging internal support and driving collaboration across all divisions,
Analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.
Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics.
What you will work on
Monitor, report, and pivot based on the performance of multiple metrics: SEO, Google ads, conversion, retention, campaigns, and more
Develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public facing communications, including print, digital and video assets
Conceptualize and execute on multichannel campaigns across the prospect and customer lifecycle, ensuring the alignment of communications and messaging in all channels
Manage content and updates for customer and internal touch points, establish budget guidelines, participate in events, document business processes, and provide sales support
Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads
Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly
Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets

Bachelor’s degree
Fluent English proficiency
Japanese proficiency (Fluency preferred)
At least 5 years of marketing experience, 2 years in a management capacity
Proven success in developing marketing teams, strategies, and plans
Strong project management, multitasking and decision-making skills
Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity
Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools
Strong experience with Google Ads and similar platforms
Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy
Can problem solve and create solutions on their own
Responsive on multiple communication channels
Organization and prioritization skills
Confidence in taking ownership of assigned tasks
Work independently with minimal supervision
