Tokyo Academics is the passion project of a constellation of teachers, researchers, and academics from around the world. Since 2012, we’ve evolved from a few university friends to a growing number of part-time and full-time individuals located in Tokyo, as well as working remotely. We are looking for an independent self-starter to drive our HR strategy, overseeing all internal HR functions (including recruitment). This role will work closely with the management team to implement best practices that foster a positive work environment, support with resolving people issues, promote compliance with company policies, and ensure the effective delivery of a professional recruitment service to comply with Tokyo Academics’ Recruitment and Selection policy and best practice guidelines.
This role will be based out of our Tokyo office and working during regular business hours of 10:00am to 7:00 pm Japan time.

What you will work on
Be the main source of expertise across all general areas of HR and recruiting, including organizational design, planning, diversity and inclusion, employee experience, talent and performance management, compensation, and employee relations.
Handle Goal setting, Performance Review, Salary Review, and Employment Contract renewal processes at any level of staff: CEO to interns.
