Tokyo Academics is the passion project of a constellation of teachers, researchers, and academics from around the world. Since 2012, we’ve evolved from a few university friends to a growing number of part-time and full-time individuals located in Tokyo, as well as working remotely. We are an organization of experts deeply passionate about helping students meet their potential and capture the opportunities of the future.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bilingual Marketing Specialist with a strong background in partnerships, outreach, copywriting, Google Ads, digital marketing, and translation. The ideal candidate should be a native Japanese speaker, with business level English proficiency and have a deep understanding of the Japanese market and culture. Tokyo Academics operates fully in English with an International work culture.

​What you will work on

  • Identify and develop new business partnerships to drive growth and revenue
  • Manage, maintain existing partnerships while making new ones to ensure strong relationships
  • Create and execute marketing campaigns to drive engagement and conversions
  • Write and edit copy for various marketing materials such as email campaigns, website content, and social media posts
  • Manage and optimize Google Ads campaigns to drive traffic and conversions
  • Utilize digital marketing tools and techniques to increase brand awareness and drive traffic to the website
  • Translate marketing materials from English to Japanese and vice versa
  • Reach out to schools and establish partnerships with schools 
  • Give presentations and answer questions

Our ideal candidate

  • Native fluency in Japanese
  • Working English proficiency
  • Proven experience in partnerships, outreach, copywriting, Google Ads, digital marketing, and translation, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the Japanese market and culture
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with data
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in marketing and project management tools
  • Preferred skills in:
    -Graphic Design (Adobe suite, Canva)
    -Web editing (Wordpress, HTML, CSS)
    -Light video editing
    -Light audio editing
    ​-Organizational tasks

Work hours

  • 40 hours per week, in-person (Tokyo)
  • Flexible schedule, but must be available from Monday - Friday during regular business hours (10am - 7pm JST)​​
